For a Liquid Detergent or All-Purpose Cleaner

Place 12-15 whole shells in 6 cups of boiling water for 30-45 minutes or until it has been reduced to about 4 cups, or reduce more for a more concentrated solution. Strain and transfer to an air-tight container and store in a cool dark place. Being an organic material it will go rancid if left in warm conditions for several days. The refrigerator will help it keep the longest, but make sure you label it, as a stomach ache would occur if someone were to ingest it by accident. Use 1-2 Tbsp of this concentrated liquid in your washing machine, or use as dish detergent, all purpose cleaner, and much more.
Being anti-bacterial by nature, they make the perfect disinfectant for cloth diapers, hard surfaces, dishes, as a fruit and vegetable wash, or even as a mild insecticide for your plants.
